Imphepho

Known as the most widely used medicinal and ceremonial herb in South Africa, Imphepho is traditionally used by the shamanic healers (sangoma) as an active call to divine guidance and to the protection of their ancestors.

It is said that Imphepho was the first plant medicine revealed to the Sangoma healers of South Africa; once they had built a relationship with Imphepho, she guided them to discover and learn the use of all the other medicinal herbs.
