Tulsi - Holy Basil
€7.00
An adaptogen is not a sedative. These are plants that modulate the stress response — depending on the day's need, they raise or appease. Tulsi (Ocimum sanctum), Ashwagandha (Withania somnifera), Brahmi (Bacopa monnieri) — three Ayurvedic pillars.
The word "adaptogen" is recent (Lazarev, 1947) but the concept is millennial. Tulsi has been cultivated in every Hindu courtyard for 5000 years. Ashwagandha is in the Charaka Samhita (1500 BCE).
We re-inscribe each plant in its tradition of use; the detail of the harvest is not yet fully documented. No forced standardization. Leaves, roots, whole parts.

⊹ WHY THIS FAMILY ⊹
A few simple Ayurvedic principles:
First: take Ashwagandha in the evening, at dinner. It helps deep sleep. Tulsi in the morning, as a light infusion.
Second: hold at least 6 weeks. Adaptogens work in duration, not by pulse.
Third: alternate. Three months Ashwagandha, three months Tulsi+Brahmi. The body gets used to it; rotation = efficacy.
