We answer.
What is Chilcuague (Heliopsis longipes)?
Chilcuague is a root endemic to central Mexico — Heliopsis longipes, which only grows in the Sierra Gorda of Querétaro and Guanajuato. The Pame, Chichimec, Otomí and Nahua peoples have used it for centuries as a medicine of the mouth, the voice and punctual dental discomforts. Its Mexican name Raíz de Oro (Golden Root) speaks of the value once attached to it — historically traded as a treasure.
How do you use the Chilcuague spray?
One to three sprays under the tongue or in the mouth, 5 to 10 minutes before a public speech, song or reading. The wake-up is immediate: a characteristic tingling that spreads from tongue to jaw, the mouth awakens, the voice opens.
Why does Chilcuague cause tingling?
It is the signature of a rare and endemic alkaloid — affininine, an alkylamide pharmacologically cousin to Echinacea but of far livelier intensity. The tingling-fire it triggers is very characteristic of Heliopsis longipes.
Does Chilcuague relieve dental pain?
Mesoamerican tradition has used it for centuries for this purpose. A spray directly on the area produces a notable local numbing of punctual dental discomforts. It is not a medical treatment — consult a dentist for any persistent pain.
How long does the Chilcuague effect last?
It is a flash-threshold plant. The effect appears within ten seconds and typically lasts between 5 and 30 minutes. Precisely useful when one has little time to gather oneself before an important moment.
What precautions with Chilcuague?
Do not use more than 6 consecutive days — its potent purifying power can also affect the intestinal microbiome with prolonged use. Avoid during pregnancy and breastfeeding without professional advice. Contraindicated for those allergic to Asteraceae (daisies, chamomile, echinacea).
Where does INFUSE's Chilcuague come from?
The root is imported from Mexico, then macerated 2 months in organic artisan Apple Spirit sourced locally in Brittany, France. Bottled in a 50 ml amber spray. Harvest summer 2025.
Is Chilcuague legal in the UK / EU?
Yes, Heliopsis longipes is freely available across the UK and the European Union as a traditional plant of oral use.
